Sienna is one of the most sought-after places to live in Fort Bend County and one of the U.S.’s largest master-planned communities. Sienna is located in Missouri City, TX, and the area that historically functioned as farmland has retained its rural feel with vast green spaces and nature reserves. Proximity to Houston offers urban nightlife, a broad cultural landscape, and endless restaurants, shopping, and job opportunities. Building of the community began in 1997, and they are still building new homes today in 2022 on the 10,000+ acres owned by Johnson Development. On average, homes in Sienna run between $300,000-$1 million+. Sienna also has multiple styles and home types available, from townhomes to expansive estates.

Sienna’s real estate market is consistent and competitive. The Houston Business Journal reported that Sienna ranked first for Houston communities. The residential community predominantly features single-family homes designed with spacious multi-level floor plans. The median sale price in Sienna is in the mid $300s, making it more affordable than most inner-loop neighborhoods, which can cost twice as much per square foot. Sienna also has an active HOA and decent tax rates.

The naturally wooded landscape, high-performing schools, world-class amenities, and a wide range of houses from leading builders, including Darling, Chesmar, Highland, Perry, and David Weekly, make Sienna a prime location. Sienna has a thriving, small-town vibe and offers residents many community activities and events. It has resort-style pools and water parks, tennis courts, and a 160-acre sports complex. Sienna Plantation features over 100 acres of neighborhood parks, playgrounds, miles of trails, lakes, and its own community sports leagues. 

Urban Proximity

Sienna offers a relatively quick commute to Downtown Houston, allowing for convenient work or recreational excursions into the city. Commuting Downtown may take between 25 minutes and 1 hour, depending on the time of day and traffic. Commuting options include the Fort Bend Parkway or quick access to Hwy 59 via Hwy 6, University Blvd, or FM 1092. You can also travel straight up Hwy 90 to the Medical Center. Sugar Land, an adjacent suburb, is nearby and offers lots of dining and shopping opportunities at the Sugar Land Town Square and First Colony Mall. It’s also an excellent location for beach getaways, as it’s only an hour’s drive to Galveston, TX

Sienna features over 100 acres of lakes, parks, trails, and green space. Sports are a significant pastime in Sienna, from the Sienna Golf Club, a popular 18-hole course with a public driving range, to the Panthers Lacrosse Club, an active youth lacrosse club with over 200 members. Active community members have plenty of indoor and outdoor recreational opportunities, including Camp Sienna with baseball, soccer, sand volleyball, basketball courts, and the Sienna Stables, a horse boarding, training, and riding facility. The Sawmill Lake Fitness Center, located in the village of Shipman’s Landing, has exercise equipment, a weight room, and group fitness classes for yoga, jazzercise, Zumba, and more. The community sports offerings are many. They include tennis, football, soccer, gymnastics, and karate

Sienna schools are in Fort Bend ISD, a desirable school district. It offers five elementary schools, three middle schools, and two high schools, with a third to open in fall 2023. Sienna Crossing Elementary and Scanlan Oaks Elementary have perfect scores on Great Schools, while First Colony Middle School is rated 9 out of 10. Sienna is a vibrant, all-inclusive community that embodies suburban convenience, affordability, and family values. Families love the many community pools; toddlers can splash in the shallow lagoons, while older ones love the water structures and twisty slides.

Families also enjoy the expansive Sienna Branch Library, the second-largest in Fort Bend County, offering children’s programming, story time, and a public 3D printer. Sienna has over 20 parks with picnic spots, playgrounds, and splash pads. It’s also a short drive to the Museum DistrictHouston Zoo, and Discovery Green. Sienna has a close-knit community.
